The carols in this score, which are arranged for piano, were collected by various composers and folklorists: Gh. Dima, N. Lungu, T. Brediceanu, Gh. Breazul, Gh. Cucu, C. Brăiloiu, D.G. Kiriac, N. Pratia, I. Cocişiu, E. Monţia, T. Popovici, Al. Podoleanu, N. Ursu and others, who have created rich collections of carols that are still sung today, either in their monodic form or in their choral version.

In addition to traditional Romanian carols, this score also includes several international songs, which are very often sung during the Christmas period.
